TeleNav understands and respects your concerns about the use of your personal data. We collect only the information it needs to provide its TeleNav services to you, to bill you for those services, and to continually improve the quality of the TeleNav service. Our users are our most important asset and, as such, we would like to set forth the following policies that we strictly adhere to.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

TeleNav will collect your name, billing address, and credit card number for the purpose of billing you for TeleNav services. TeleNav records your name and billing address, and just the last four digits of your credit card number. Accordingly, once you complete your registration with TeleNav, you are not anonymous to us.

TeleNav requires you to provide your 10-digit mobile phone number as an account number so that when you call the destination address voice entry feature, TeleNav can use caller ID to map your phone number to your account number. Subsequently, when you access the TeleNav service via the TeleNav application on your Nextel Java phone, TeleNav requires you to enter this same account number to allow it to retrieve the destination address you dictated.

TeleNav collects and records your e-mail address so that it can contact you when your account is about to expire, or whenever you change your account number or personal identification number (PIN). This latter feature is provided so that you can report any tampering.

At your discretion, you can provide TeleNav with your home and/or work addresses to make the TeleNav service easier to use. TeleNav records this information so that you can readily access it using “myHome” or “myWork” as a shorthand reference in voice entry.

Whenever you use the destination address voice entry feature, we record your audible utterance (what you said). We collect utterances from our entire subscriber population, organize them by what was said, and then use this information to adjust speech recognition performance parameters to improve accuracy.

LOCATION TRACKING

Whenever you use the TeleNav service, TeleNav records your route information including point of origin, your destination address, your path and the starting time of a trip you make. We use this information for determining where we should emphasize improving our map coverage and service capabilities. If you call TeleNav to discuss service quality, we will be able to retrieve this information so that we can more accurately service you and correct the technical problem you encountered.

Whenever the GPS receiver is attached to your Nextel phone and is powered on, and the TeleNav application on the phone is active and able to reach the TeleNav servers, TeleNav is receiving, recording, and processing your current geographic location for the purpose of providing the TeleNav service. TeleNav may also use this information for improving the quality of the TeleNav service.

INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

TeleNav provides only your name, billing address and credit card information to the bank that processes your credit card for billing purposes.

TeleNav provides only your name, shipping address and e-mail address to Rayming Corporation so that they can ship ordered products to you, provide you with a return material authorization (RMA), or accept returned products from you.

TeleNav will comply with any subpoenas, court orders or other legal processes; and may use information it has to establish or exercise our legal rights, or to defend against legal claims.

COOKIES

This website (www.telenav.net) does not employ browser cookies.

The TeleNav Java application that is downloaded to, and resides upon your Nextel Java phone does retain your account number and PIN, and this data is visible upon application invocation to allow you to change it so that you can access multiple accounts from the same handset. Changing the account number on a handset does not change the caller ID parameters of that handset when using the destination address voice entry feature.

CONFIDENTIALITY

TeleNav strictly limits access to your personal information to those employees who need this information to provide customer service to you, or must otherwise come in contact with this information to perform their jobs.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

TeleNav may from time to time update this policy. In the event that TeleNav merges with, or is acquired by another company, a change to this privacy policy may result. Whenever the change to this policy is significant, we will notify you via your e-mail address of record, and place a prominent notice on this website.
